Product Description :
M∙A∙C Snow Ball. Find your rhythm. All eyes are on the cool kids, hanging out, swaying to the beat, showing off with a little festive flirtation. You’re the sleighbelle of the ball, dancing until morning, feeling alive, reveling in the new generation. The lights catch a crystal and glitter snowflake adornment, all the bling you’ll ever need – everyone goes starstruck. See you on the dance floor.
My experience : MAC comes out with really interesting collection around the holidays each year and this year it was all about dancing the night away! Glitter has been everywhere in the past year – from eye shadows to glitter lips to glitter slime! So it only fitting that Snow Ball collection is all shiny and shimmery! The Snow Ball collection is huge and has the BEST packaging one can imagine! However, most of the actual products are nothing out of the ordinary. The reason I picked up this particular lipstick is because one can never have enough red lipsticks and I know this one will be used well too, like all my other red lipsticks!
The lipstick comes packaged in a transparent plastic casing with gold snowflake-ish geometrical print over it. I really like that because one can clearly see the gorgeous packaging of the lipstick through it! The show-stopping, insanely gorgeous and the real stunner is the gold-flakes or broken-glass effect that the lipstick has. The gold rims add to the fetching look of this collection. The inner casing is also luxurious gold with the brand logo in contrasting white lettering. The quality of the packaging is quite superior, MAC never disappoints on that front.
The lipstick bullet has a tear-drop shaped tip with a slight curve to it. It perfectly caresses the natural plumpness of the lips. The signature vanilla scent has been added to this MAC product also as with all their lipsticks.
The pigmentation of this product is exceptional, it goes completely opaque in just one layer.
This shade is describes as Apple Red . In my experience, this is a true cool tone red, with striking blue/purple undertones. It photographs more ‘brighter’ than it is in real life.
In comparison, Ruby Woo/Patrick Woo is brighter and warmer, Hooray for Holiday ( From the Red Lip Bag of the Snow Ball Collection) is more matte and warmer. Russian Red in comparison to this would be neutral toned and darker.
It applies smoothly without any tugs. There is no feathering at all, even when i never line my lips. The lipstick has a does not have a slip to it when applied, neither is it tacky. It feels quite comfortable even after several hours of application. It is not drying nor is it hydrating. It never settles down to a completely matte finish unless you blot it with a tissue.
The longevity is good and it easily lasts for up to 6-7 hours in my lips with light snacking and drinking. One of the best qualities about this lipstick formula is that it does not settle into the fine lines of the lips and fades away evenly. Even after 5 hours of wearing it, it has not faded even from the middle of my lips, as can be seen in the picture below.
This lipstick does tend to stain your lips a bit and clings to the dry bits of the lips as you remove it. It needs a good oil-based remover for complete removal.
Over all, I love the packaging and I love a good matte lippie from MAC that lasts a long time. This product checks all the right boxes! It is a flattering shade for all skin tones and would surely get lot of usage for me! MAC has done a great job with the comfortable formula as well!
I would rate it 5/5. Get your hands on it ladies!
