My experience: We all have heard the ill-effects of all the bucket-load of chemicals that go into making these cosmetics that we dearly love. But we ignore it, because we are vain! But here is another way of getting glammed up sans all these chemicals and heavy metals!

Soultree is known for it’s essential oils, bath range and vaporizer oils. I have tried some of their products in that department and generally liked them. However, cosmetics is a different ball game. So called herbal products are generally quite ineffective and poor performers.

So I tried this lipstick without any expectations!

I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with several of its qualities.

The product comes nicely packed in a separate and quite elaborate cardboard box that nests the lipstick! The lipstick is cased in a silver, plastic case with a color coded sticker at it’s bottom. It doesn’t feel like a cheap plastic, and the twist up mechanism of the lipstick as well as the lid closure are both pretty secure and well made.

The lipstick has a typical petal shaped tip, which I much prefer to any other shape frankly. Its practical and easy to use.

This lipstick comes in the most generous amount out of any other lipstick that I have used!

One of the most prominent feature is it’s scent, the lipstick smells like roses!!

Pigmentation and color pay off are surprisingly good. It glides one smoothly over the lips, depositing decent product in one layer for an opaque finish.

This shade is a unique one. In it’s bullet, it looked like a brick-red to me but upon swatching, it was much more orange with a whitish base. On my medium complexion, it looks decent. However, I think it would stand out more on deeper skin tones. In my opinion, it may wash out on pale skin tones.

The finish of this lipstick is a crème initially, but it settles down to a soft matte look.

The lipstick is not drying but it also doesn’t provide any extra hydration to your lips.

Like any other crème lipsticks, this one is not transfer-proof. It lasted on me for about 2-3 hours without snacking. It does tend to leave its mark on cutlery and food. So if you eat with it on, then be sure to re-apply.

The USP is of course the fact that it is all natural, vegan, cruelty free, lead free, Petroleum free, Carmine free and Parabens free . For a product to be all that and yet be this effective, deserves a brownie point!

This product can be easily removed with soap and water!

Over all, It’s a commendable effort by the brand to bring out a quality product in the market at an affordable price point. They have a wide range of shades to choose from, and I think it makes for a great daily-wear product!

I would rate this a 4/5. (One point less only because the shade did not match from the bullet to the swatch?!)

Have you tried anything from this range?
