My Experience :  I know we can find the twist up crayon style lipsticks in every nook and cranny now, so why am i talking about these from Clinique? Well, that’s because this is what started it all. Clinique revolutionized the makeup scene by packaging lip tints in a crayon style stick when they came out with the Chubby Sticks. This cooked up a storm in the industry and every body came out with their own versions thereafter. The original Chubby Sticks were more of lip balms with a sheer finish, so Clinique then came up with the Intense version of these, and the world rejoiced!! ( okay, i exaggerated a bit!)
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms come packaged in a beautiful floral themed cardboard box that several Clinique makeup products come in. The product is housed in a thick twist up pencil, with a shiny silver mirrored  plastic cap and bottom.
The product details are mentioned in silver lettering too, on the stick.
The lip balms sticks are easy to use and travel friendly.
These are available in 8 different shades in India, each of the shades are quite flattering to the Indian skin tone.
There is a slight fragrance to it, almost buttery. This also leaves an after-taste of the same when you apply it. It may be because they contain mango and shea butter.
The consistency of these balms is very buttery smooth, they simply glide on the lips. Initially these are quite slippery and oily on application, but they settle to a comfortable glossy finish within few minutes.

There is no tackiness to these at all, which i really appreciate.
As the name suggests, they are moisturizing lip balms. They hydrate the lips and are comfortable to wear for several hours. I don’t know about you, but my lips get really dry in summers more than winters!
For lip balms, these are very pigmented and give medium to full coverage, depending on the shade. Lighter shades would give a moderate coverage, but darker shades would cover pigmentation of the lips in one layer itself. In summers, i don’t like a fully opaque lip product during day time, these give enough pigment to my lips without being over bearing.

04 Heftiest Hibiscus is the first shade i bought about a year ago. Its a beautiful warm orange color. It gives medium coverage on my lips.
05 Plushest Punch is a warm magenta. It gives almost full coverage to me.
These lip colors do not give proper pigmentation if worn  over a lip balm, they would just separate and slick off over a lip balm. They do tend to cling to the dry chapped flakes of the lips too, so prior exfoliation of the lips is recommended.
Another issue with all twist up sticks in general, is that once the lipstick bullet gets blunt after use, these is no provision to sharpen them. So if you want a precise application, you would have to use a lip brush.

The longevity of these is about 3-4 hours or less, which is pretty good considering they are balms. I definitely need touch ups if i have meals with them. They are not transfer-proof or water-proof, as is the case with lip balms. Even then, i haven’t noticed any feathering even in peak summers.
They are completely hypo-allergenic and are safe foe use for people prone to allergies.
Over all,i like these lip balms especially for summers because they give me a sufficient wash of color on the lips along with hydration, however i wish they wouldn’t cling to dry flakes of the lips as they do on me. Nevertheless, they are perfect for a day time look. There is a reason why these have won several beauty awards over the years!
I would rate them 4/5.
