My Experience :
Sephora is the toast of the town these days, what with the grand opening they had of their first store in Mumbai. It seems the Mumbai launch of Sephora broke the internet! There were long queues and people went a little crazy!
And all us Delhities were like – been there done that dude! Just kidding!
Well, Sephora Delhi has been up and about for quite some time now.It was quite exciting at first but slowly we realised how they struggle to keep themselves stocked up, how they havent launched some of the key brands here like Too Faced, Urban Decay & Laura Mercier etc, and how they have no system of Sephora membership/points (VIB) and lastly, how they dont give out samples with purchases like all Sephora stores all across the globe do!
Anyway, enough of the rant. We jolly well love our Sephora nevertheless, and would continue to empty out our wallets for them!
When we talk about Sephora, we tend to think of all these lovely brands like Benefit, Soap & Glory, Burts Bees, MUFE, Stila etc but we sometimes overlook the fact that Sephora has its very own range of beauty & skincare range and its bloody awesome too!
The product I am reviewing today was discovered by me quite by mistake. It was during the hot summer months last year when i was looking for a facial mist and the obvious choice for me was something natural like from Forest Essentials. As luck would have it, FE counter was out of stock at the time, so i was happened to ask the Sephora SA if any other brand has it there. Lo and behold, i found my new favorite!
Sephora Softening Facial Mist comes packaged in a standard spray can which the typical color combination of Sephora Skincare range. It has a Sephora logo on top of the black plastic cap.
Like any other spray can, you have to shake it before spraying. The spray nozzle is quite good. In fact, its one of the better ones as compared to the other face mists i have tried. No one likes it when you spray a face mist and get drenched as though you have just taken a shower. Some of the pump sprays do that. However, this one sprays a perfect fine mist which has awide circumference. Even if you spray it from near your face, you would get a wide misty spritz.
Here is a video of the spray in action. Its has been shot in slow motion, hopefully you can appreciate the mist it sprays.
The fragarance is very pleasant and mild. It reminds you of lotus flowers in a lake.
The mist feels very refreshing and in my case, it instantly makes my skin feel moisturised and supple. It takes a few seconds to dry down and then you are good to go. It does not feel tacky upon drying.
In the hot and humid summer months, sometimes the makeup can separate. Just a spritz from this will refresh the makeup and get rid of the powdery look on the face. It is not a makeup setting spray, so it will not prolong your makeup.
The season that is right now, when winters are getting over but its not quite spring yet, my skin and hair tends to get very dry. I can see dry scaly patchy areas on my face and this face mist comes in very handy then.
If you have read my posts, you know i have a very sensitive skin and sensitive nose. Which means that i have to be very careful about the ingredients in my products as well as the smell. This product has been hypoallergenic on my skin.
Longevity of this product depends on the weather in my case. In the hot summers, i feel the need to spray every 4-5 hours. In the current weather, i use it may be once or twice a day.
Over all, i quite enjoy this face mist and its very easy to carry along in my handbag. Its definitely worth trying out.
I would rate it a 4.5/5.
Hopefully you liked the post, give it a thumbs up if you like my first attempt to shoot a video!
