Hello everyone! Today i am reviewing a hidden gem of sorts, the MAC Select MoistureCover Concealer in NC35.

Price : Rs 1700 for 5ml / US $19 for 0.17 fl oz

Product Claims : A hydrating liquid concealer with medium buildable coverage and a natural finish.

My experience :  When we hear of concealers by MAC, the only names thrown at us are ProLongwear and Studio Finish. They have been raved by thousands of people, including makeup artists. So when i went shopping for a concealer, ProLongwear was my first choice. I tried it at the MAC store, the coverage was great and the color match was good too but somehow it felt very ‘heavy’. I felt as if my skin underneath was feeling suffocated. And it seemed to make my undereye area look more wrinkled.

After some more hits and misses of trying the Studio Finish line of concealers too, the MUA fished out this little guy for me. It seems the MAC Select Moisture Cover concealer is not as loved as the others and i can’t understand why.

The moment i tried this on, i knew this is the one for me!!

The product comes in the standard MAC black cardboard box, packaged in a plastic transparent tube. It has a chic black top applicator wand with a sponge doe-foot tip. It’s travel-friendly and quite sturdy.

The cardboard box mentions all necessary details. The shade is mentioned on a silver sticker at the bottom of the tube too.

The concealer is available in 13 shades which i think is appreciable! The shades are a bit more yellow/orange toned and hence, perfect for covering up dark circles.

The consistency of the concealer is a bit gel-like. It’s water based and feels very light weight.

The applicator wand is very convenient to apply the product directly onto the skin, it picks up just the right amount from the tube.

MAC suggests using a concealer brush to blend this. I usually just tap it with my finger tips around my eyes and it blends like a dream! The pointy tip of the beauty blender works well too.

As the undereye area is a little dry, this product provides the optimal amount of hydration, and makes the fine lines disappear like magic! It pairs up with my MAC Mineralize Moisture SPF15 Foundation perfectly. However,if you use an oil based foundation, this may not work with it.

The coverage of this concealer is light to medium.  It does not cover up dark spots /acne scars completely. However,it can be built up  in areas where heavy coverage is required. Layering does not make this cakey.

The longevity of this product is quite impressive as it lasts easily about 7 to 8 hours even if i don’t set it with a powder.

There is no noticeable fragrance to it, and it’s completely safe for sensitive skin and eyes as well as contact lens wearers.

This concealer does not have any SPF. Personally it does not bother me because i wear a sunscreen separately.

Overall, i think it’s a match made in heaven for me!! On a daily basis.. i just conceal with this wherever required and dab on some powder, and i am good to go for the whole day! It’s the most perfect concealer for undereye areas as well as dry & sensitive skin.

I would rate it a 4.8/5. (If only it were cruelty-free,it would be perfect :/ )
